Classical Still Life, 1990, white bisqued unglazed porcelain centerpiece and vase
Inspired by a still life by Cezanne and manufactured in Limoges, the unglazed porcelain of the exterior of George Segal's Classical Still Life, speaks of the plaster surfaces of Segal's figurative sculptures while the interior of the pitcher is glazed making it functional as a vase for a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Inspired by Cezanne, GEORGE SEGAL has created this centerpiece titled Classical Still Life, which has been manufactured in Limoges by Bernardaud.
The unglazed bisquit finish masterfully replicates the same visual effect as the artist’s use of plaster while the glazed inner surface of the pitcher enables you to use your still life centerpiece as a vase for a beautiful floral bouquet.
