MEYER VAISMAN

Leo
1992-1993, Ceramic

MEYER VAISMAN has created an edition of ceramic toby mugs entitled "Leo". The artist has adopted the traditional character jug, which first appeared in Straffordshire, England in the mid-eighteenth century and which has been a popular collectable ever since.

Meyer Vaisman chose Leo Castelli in honor of the 35th Anniversary of the Leo Castelli Gallery. The handle depicts the works of five artists who have been represented by this famous art world personality during the course of his career.

This edition, which has been published by ARTES MAGNUS, is limited to 100. The caricature was executed by Robert Grossman and the mug is manufactured by Kevin Francis Ceramics in Staffordshire. Each work is hand made, hand painted, signed and numbered.
